George Tomsco of the Original FIREBALLS requested packaging redesign for his song
Interesting interview with George in the The Fretboard Journal "Missing Link" article
The song tells the story of George heading home aboard a Santa Fe-bound train from Kansas City in the wee hours of the morning to arrive in Raton, NM just in time to spend Christmas with family.
On the trip westward through the cold Christmas Eve night, steel wheels racing over steel tracks providing a soothing musical rhythm, George penned a Christmas song for the get together his parents had planned for the family.
The song expresses deep, unwavering love for his parents no matter where his music takes him in the world, how good it is to be home for Christmas, and sorrow that the music will inevitably call him to the road to leave home again soon.
George lovingly applied finishing touches as the train eased down from Raton Pass on its final approach to his home town, and the creation of "Merry Christmas Mom & Dad" was complete.
Utilizing superb imagery from the song lyrics, the cover art was easily conceived.
Working closely with George, lyrics, an image of the original manuscript, and notes about creating the song were included in a five page foldout booklet incorporated into the cover.
Helping George realize this packaging dream was an honor and pleasure. Besides being a nice guy, he truly knows how to imagine, experiment, and innovate to give his dreams meaningful substance in creations for others to enjoy.
